A top medical facility in Worcester, MA is seeking a 3rd Shift Patient Access Service Representative to join their team. Hours for the Patient Access Service Representative:
  • 11: 30pm-8am

Responsibilities for the Patient Access Service Representative:
  • Schedule patients for treatment by multiple providers and treatment areas, and arrange a variety of associated tests and procedures according to established guidelines and specific criteria
  • Apply relevant functional knowledge of multiple treatment areas, the priority and sequence of associated procedures and tests and primary care services
  • Prioritize in a manner that will foster more efficient utilization of physician’ s clinical staff, and patient’ s time, as well as equipment and facilities
  • Schedule patients for outpatient services or visits to multiple campuses
  • Comply with referral management regulations established for primary care providers
  • Obtain, and enter into the computer-based patient registration/scheduling system, demographic, insurance, and other related patient information
  • Utilize multiple computer-based systems
  • Verify patient insurance coverage via the electronic eligibility systems
  • Telephone and/or notify patient of appointment times
  • Provide patient with standard information regarding their personal preparation for scheduled procedures
  • Mail patient information packets to patients
  • Receive and triage patient phone calls to appropriate providers as in an emergency situations and/or their need for medical advice
  • Recommend improvements in systems and procedures
  • Comply with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives
  • Attend variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed
  • Demonstrate use of Quality Improvement in daily operations
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and requirements
  • Respect diverse views and approaches, and contributes in maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors
Requirements for the Patient Access Service Representative:
  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems for patient registration and scheduling and knowledge of business office procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, third party payer billing and managed care requirements and procedures preferred
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
