Responsibilities for the Accountant:
  • Responsible for preparing and processing all vendor invoices using Microsoft Dynamics SL and M-Files
  • Assign general ledger coding to invoices, obtain approval signatures on all invoices, and produce checks for signature
  • Transmit Disbursement Ledger to Accountant II for review
  • Maintain monthly accounts payable related tracking schedules (accruals, prepaids, etc.)
  • Adhere to rent and tax related tracking spreadsheets for payments due prior to processing
  • Monitor accounts payable aging
  • Import check run to Positive Pay banking system and informs release needed by Sr. Controller or CFO
  • Initiate ACH, Wire, and cash transfers in Positive Pay banking system and advises release needed by Sr. Controller or CFO
  • Download daily bank statement and complete all SL entries needed related to Lockbox receipts, ACH, wires, other incoming deposits, bank loan activity, checks, and other outgoing payments
  • Validate data; obtain missing information, and resolve discrepancies and exceptions
  • Preserve the data integrity of all reporting information
  • Maintain organized work flow to ensure accounts payable function is completed accurately in a timely manner, in adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Create/monitor reconciliation reports and assist with resolving reconciliation differences             
Requirements for the Accountant:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills; ability to interpret financial and statistical information, demonstrating a solid understanding of general accounting principles
  • Ability to learn and use technology products such as Microsoft Dynamics (SL), Adaptive Insights, CRM, etc.
  • A solid knowledge of MS Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in general ledger accounting
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
