A rapidly growing software company in Boston, MA is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. The Accounting Manager will manage the accounting operations of the company. The position reports to the VP of Finance, and is responsible for ensuring appropriate accounting policy, daily management of accounting and accounting systems related issues as well as directing the accounting staff. Responsibilities for the Accounting Manager:
  • Manage the monthly close process, including accruals, reconciliations and journal entries to close the accounting system financials
  • Work with the VP of Finance to ensure data management structure enables timely and accurate reporting and analysis
  • Drive continuous improvements in process with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging key systems
  • Manage the customer billing system and ensure billing is accurate with the support of staff
  • Calculate monthly and quarterly bonus and commission plans to ensure accuracy with plan design
  • Process payroll (in conjunction with HR)
  • Improve, maintain, and document the appropriate fiduciary controls for the company
  • Manage the audit process and ensures appropriate document control to support all transactions
  • Manage fixed asset register with assistance of staff
  • Process employee expense reports
Requirements for the Accounting Manager:
  • Bachelor’ s degree or equivalent degree in Accounting; Broad knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with integrated CRM and invoicing/revenue recognition systems such as Salesforce and Zuora needed to process a high volume of transactions
  • SaaS or subscription-based company experience preferred 
  • Willingness to take on majority of day-to-day transactions
  • 5+ years accounting experience, including managerial responsibility and complete finance department area knowledge
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
