A leading university in Boston, MA is seeking an Associate Director to join their team. Responsibilities for the Associate Director:                  
  • Make recommendations to the Associate Dean relating to projected and actual budget performance for a College with multiple funding sources including operating, sponsored project, gift, endowment, and discretionary accounts
  • Oversee accounting operations of all funds and ensures that units are spending within projections
  • Assist the Associate Dean in developing the annual hybrid budget for the college
  • Play a role in developing budgets and tracking expenses for the College’ s growing regional campus population
  • Act as the data expert for the college and will serve as the main resource for student, coop, financial aid and enrollment data
  • Present data in multiple formats (i.e. charts, tables) to the Associate Dean to assist with analyzing budget-to-actual performance in all areas
  • Ensure that all data is accurate to facilitate strategic decision making
Requirements for the Associate Director:
  • Bachelor’ s degree
  • 7-10 years’ budget experience in a university and/or business setting
  • MBA preferred
  • Passion for analyzing and understanding data and ability to quickly recognize and resolve data discrepancies
  • Experience working with university data and knowledge of Banner, Concur, Cognos and Argos preferred
  • Experience using reporting tools such as Cognos in order to extract data from the university’ s data warehouse
  • Strong excel skills and knowledge of advanced functions to manipulate and combine data from multiple sources
  • Solid understanding of HR, financial and research data and will be able to draw correlations between all data sets
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
