A leading financial services company in Boston’ s Financial District is seeking an Audit Control Specialist to join their team (pay is up to $14/hr temp and $38K+ and OT perm). In this contract-to-hire role, you will be responsible for compiling and reconciliation of mutual fund accounting audit packages and tax reporting period packages for all funds. The Audit Control Specialist role will work closely with Senior and Supervisor in meeting critical deadlines. The position ensures the firm's clients audit packages are accurate and delivered timely. Responsibilities for the Audit Control Specialist:
  • Maintain complete monthly accounting records of commingled asset portfolios
  • Perform quality assurance of core exception accounting reports
  • Escalate discrepancies to appropriate internal accounting or support team to correct transaction or report
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly accounting proof packages
  • Work effectively with internal clients in Accounting Operations/Client Service Teams to ensure timely resolution of external client and external auditor inquiries
  • Develop key internal relationships to proactively aid in the resolution of issues
  • Utilize internal systems to meet and support monthly critical deadlines
  • Utilize relevant internal technology solutions to effectively and efficiently manage client and external auditor inquiries
  • Ensure any accounting related issues or breaks are reviewed and resolved
Requirements for the Audit Control Specialist:
  • BS/BA degree preferably in a business, finance, or accounting related concentration and/or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong ability to apply analytical skills to data, work flow numeric information and problem solving
  • Flexibility to work alternate schedules and overtime
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
