Responsibilities for the Fund Accountant:
  • Responsible for daily trade settlement and valuation on various investment portfolios including money market instruments, futures, OTC currency forwards, other derivatives and financial instruments
  • Perform daily and month-end portfolio accounting and compliance reporting for a range of mutual funds, hedge funds, and managed accounts, including full portfolio account reconciliations of internal records to both the external Broker and external Fund Administrator
  • Assist with the preparation performance estimates and various other reports/requests for investors
  • Interact with external banks, brokers, fund administrators, other service providers and vendors
  • Maintain all fund related daily data such as brokerage statements and compliance reports in an organized manner
  • Maintain daily checklist of all outgoing daily deliverables to counterparties ensuring they are sent timely and received (examples include daily trade tickets, margin wire requests, and various counterparty confirmations)
  • Maintain and update documentation of all daily tasks and processes
  • Assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with daily tasks, reports, and other requests
Requirements for the Fund Accountant:
  • Background in Financial Services and 1-2 years of Fund Accounting experience
  • Experience with Advent Geneva accounting software
  • Experience accounting for derivative contracts (mainly Futures and Forwards)
  • Experience with Equity and Fixed Income instruments
  • Strongly proficient in Excel; pivot tables and advanced formulas will need to be understood as they will be used daily in the reconciliation work
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
