We have a great opportunity for a Medical Assistant in a private specialty practice in Westborough, MA. The Medical Assistant is responsible for timely and efficient clinic function, including rooming patients, taking of accurate vital signs, preparing the patient for the physician and general support for the providers. Responsibilities for the Medical Assistant:
  • Assist in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history, and medication listing
  • Complete all necessary documentation in the patients’ medical record in accordance with practices charting policy
  • Prepare equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams and medical procedures
  • Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections
  • Perform venipunctures
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment for patients and visitors
  • Stock rooms in preparation for the daily work schedule
  • Take inventory of medical and exam room supplies
  • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical, disinfectants and other hazardous substances
  • Arrange for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by the physicians
  • Answer office phones, assist front desk in scheduling appointments and direct calls appropriately
  • Assist in checking out patients and assist them with referral processing and scheduling process
  • Assist in other functions of the physician practice as needed
Requirements for the Medical Assistant:
  • High school diploma/GED required with completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program Certification
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Certified Medical Assistant in good standing
  • Strong background and knowledge in obtaining prior authorizations and referrals
  • Ability to successfully support providers by anticipating their needs
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport and trust with patients, teammates and providers
  • Skill in educating and conveying patient needs to family
  • Skill at tactful and diplomatic communication and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing exceptional service
  • Ability to utilize sound judgment and organizational skills with minimal supervision to effectively manage multiple priorities with poise and grace
  • Familiar with electronic medical record system for patient scheduling/record/billing system
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
