Responsibilities for the Network/Systems Engineer:
  • Satisfy the company virtualization and storage needs
  • Add new remote clients to the network as business needs dictate
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for resolving user connectivity issues on several different platforms
Requirements for the Network/Systems Engineer:
  • Strong background in networking protocols such TCP/IP, FTP, and VLAN configurations
  • Strong knowledge of the workings of the Windows OS and Windows server platforms including 2008 through 2012 including Exchange server
  • Background in Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and storage (EMC, Dell) as well as a strong working knowledge of routers, switches, and network acceleration tools (Cisco, HP, and Riverbed)
  • Networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, and HTTP
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and MPLS networks on Cisco and HP equipment
  • Ability to manage IPSEC VPN and AnyConnect
  • Windows OS and Windows Server Platforms (2003 through 2012) and Microsoft Office (2007 and above)
  • Windows Active Directory, Domain Names Services, Domains and Trusts, Sites and Services, Users and Computers, and Group Policy Management
  • Knowledge of VoIP support for Shoretel, including VLAN support, routing and QoS configurations
  • Mimecast and Exchange Server or SQL Server preferred
  • Backup support – physical and virtual applications preferred
  • Virtualization and storage (VMware, EMC, etc…) preferred
  • Microsoft and Cisco Certifications (MCSE, MCP, CNP, CCNP CCNA) preferred
  • 3 years of experience preferred
  • College Degree preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
