Our client in Boston, MA has an immediate need for Public Relations and Communications Coordinator for the Marketing Department of a top law firm in Boston. Responsibilities for the Public Relations and Communications Coordinator:
  • Develop media lists, editorial calendars, press releases, and other marketing materials to showcase the firm’ s news and thought leadership
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with key reporters
  • Track and maintain clip reports
  • Identify, pitch, and follow up with media
  • Produce, including editorial and production roles, and distribute firm publications and firm announcements, such as the Bank Report, client advisories, blog posts, etc.
  • Draft and upload content onto, such as news items, publications, attorneys’ bios, practice description updates, etc.
  • Prepare submissions for surveys, rankings, and directories, including collecting data from lawyers and administrative departments and maintaining production calendars and deadlines
  • Assist with internal communications, such as creating internal new hire announcements and taking the lead in producing the internal video series
  • Post content and monitor the firm’ s social media channels to drive engagement
  • Serve as back-up to members of the marketing and business development teams as needed, particularly with respect to events and client development activities
Requirements for the Public Relations and Communications Coordinator:
  • BA/BS degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in public relations/media relations, journalism, communications, or related field
  • Solid understanding of public relations, with an emphasis on media relations
  • Demonstrates passion for media and working with media in all formats
  • Knowledge of PR databases and social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and proofing for content and context
  • A high degree of organization, flexibility and reliability to set priories, manage multiple responsibilities and work well under pressure
  • Ability to assume responsibility for assigned tasks, and if necessary, able to delegate workload in order to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional presence, including good verbal skills, tact and diplomacy as well as the ability to interact positively with all types of people in all levels of business
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members as well as attorneys and staff throughout the firm
  • Adaptable to last minute changes and disruptions, and able to accommodate occasional overtime work
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
