Responsibilities for the Real Estate Legal Secretary:
  • Draft, edit, redline and proofread a high volume of correspondence, documents and spreadsheets
  • Track, document and enter billable time
  • Maintain calendar and schedule appointments
  • Initiate communication and respond to client inquiries
  • Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements and conferences
  • Process check requests, billing and expense reports
  • Perform general administrative tasks of filing, mailings, answering phone calls and greeting clients
  • Work cooperatively with assigned legal staff and section-mates
  • Maintain proficiency with office procedures and stay current with firm technology
Requirements for the Real Estate Legal Secretary:
  • 5+ years law firm experience preferably in transactional practice areas i.e.; corporate, real estate law
  • High school diploma
  • College degree preferred
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Creative problem solving skills, reasoning ability and logical thought process
  • Outstanding sense of customer service
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Working knowledge of law firm billing systems
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Visio preferred
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
