Our client, an alternative credit investment manager for both direct lending and broadly syndicated investments, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in Boston, MA. As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for general accounting and fiscal-period closings. Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:
  • Responsible for general accounting and reporting for the company and its subsidiaries
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations and close
  • Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements for bank and internal management
  • Review accounts payable and cash disbursements
  • Oversee online expense reporting process, ensuring proper expense account classifications
  • Maintain cash sheets for all funds and assist the Controller with cash movement, including initiating wire requests and reconciling with the bank statements
  • Prepare intercompany account reconciliations and billing for multiple entities
  • Work closely with external auditors as part of their quarterly review and annual audit
  • Assist with tax return process including preparing 1099s
  • Assist Controller with implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with the accounting and financial reporting related to various funds
Requirements for the Staff Accountant:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree required
  • 2 plus years of relevant work experience in public accounting or in the financial services industry CPA, or progress towards obtaining a CPA, preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, preferred
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
