An expert in an ever-expanding health crisis is seeking an Administrative Manager to support their Center for Memory Health (CMH) in Boston, MA. As the Administrative Manager, you will leverage existing services provided in Alzheimer’ s disease and memory care and organize the development and implementation of additional services to deliver comprehensive care to patients with Alzheimer’ s disease. In addition to coordinating clinical services, the Administrative Manager will also oversee the operations of other core aspects of the CMH’ s work, including education, research and advocacy of memory care related needs for all affected in the organization’ s system-wide continuum of housing and health care and also the community. Responsibilities for the Administrative Manager:
Programming/Service Offerings:
  • Support interventions to prevent physical and cognitive decline for an aging population
  • Incorporate clinical outcome measures to demonstrate reach, effectiveness, and efficiency
  • Coordinate and bring together the work of CMH across the continuum of care and promote care coordination
  • Increase and further develop the collaboration between their clinical care providers and researchers of the Institute for Aging Research
Data Management
  • Work to implement an assessment package of standardized instruments and quality outcome measurements for all patients
  • Work with the Medical Director and clinical team to establish a database that would serve as a resource to conduct research, evaluation, and quality assurance assessments for patients with memory related diseases
Communication and Outreach
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships with department directors and key personnel
  • Develop and maintain external relationships with leaders in research and clinical care through the U.S.
  • Present work emanating from CMH at various meetings
Research and Project Coordination:
  • Work with the clinical and research team leaders to develop project goals and assure that timelines are adhered to and milestones are met
  • Oversee CMH day-to-day operations, and handle urgent issues/problems as they arise
Staff Supervision and Management:
  • Help recruit and manage a highly skilled clinical, research, and supportive staff necessary to promote the quality of life for older adults suffering from Alzheimer’ s disease
  • Serve as the interface with Human Resources in relation to all personnel issues
  • Work with the President and Medical Director, CMH on the long-range staffing and organization structure for the Center
Compliance Oversight and Monitoring:
  • Ensure research and clinical regulatory compliance pertaining to the work being conducted on behalf of the CMH
Financial responsibilities:
  • Prepare an annual budget and perform financial monitoring and budget tracking
  • Address issues of long-term financial planning for the CMH 
  • Assist in seeking sponsored award funding
  • Help to develop and market fee-for-service products 
Requirements for the Administrative Manager:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree required, business or healthcare management; master preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in administration, program development
  • Exposure to academic administration preferred
  • Prior experience in running clinic or department operations, working with older adults, supervising staff, and preparing and managing budgets
  • Must have strong computer skills, including Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well with interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to assume high level of responsibility and accountability for projects under his/her direction
  • Ability to use discretion and make independent judgments
  • Strong written communication and editing skills; strong finance and budget planning skills
  • Ability to work well under time pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate the procedures required for institutional contracting
  • Be a team player who communicates effectively with all levels of personnel within and outside of the organization as responsibilities require
  • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail; self-motivated with excellent problem solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to give presentations to professional and lay audiences in subject matter; comfort with fundraising activities
  • Ability to develop, manage, and perform basic analyses of patient databases and registries
  • Ability to promote the CMH in conjunction with the Marketing team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
