Responsibilities for the Asset Development Specialist:
  • Work with individuals to create and carry out their individual housing plans
  • Responsible for housing placement and stabilization services to include all aspects related to income maximization and asset development
  • House and stabilize 15 individuals per year and case load will be assigned specifically by the Partnership Manager
  • Act as benefit expert to the system and provide information and trainings as necessary throughout the partner organizations
Requirements for the Asset Development Specialist:
  • Associate’ s Degree in a human services related field or minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience in a social service setting
  • Valid MA driver’ s license
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with a homeless population, providing direct care and/or active case management and referral services to homeless individuals
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working with people who have untreated mental illness, and/or active substance addiction
  • Knowledge of the issues related to homelessness, particularly around housing, S/A, mental illness and economic factors as precipitants to homelessness
  • Working knowledge of homeless referral networks
  • Knowledge and belief in “ Housing First” philosophy and strategies
  • Basic math skills and budgeting experience
  • Ability to stand for moderate periods of time
  • Ability to stretch, bend, lift and assist guests up and down stairs during difficult and/or emergency situations
  • Ability to respond safely and quickly in case of emergency situations
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
