Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller:
  • Assist Controller with managing the evolution of the company's financial information system and ancillary systems
  • Manage the daily operations of the Accounting Department and generate various financial and regulatory reports 
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly/quarterly/periodic management and regulatory reports
  • Assist Controller in the development and implementation of bank policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Analyze reconciliations and resolve outstanding items and accounting related issues
  • Prepare and assist with month end closing entries, accruals and related reports
  • Responsible for the development of Accounting Department’ s daily activities to meet the changing needs of management
  • Recalculate accrued interest receivable on a monthly basis and provide a written report to management
  • Participate in the wire transfer process and review set up of investment securities activity
  • Evaluate, develop, implement and monitor regulatory compliance issues
  • Assist in the preparation and development of the company's operating and capital budgets
  • Keep abreast of accounting, tax and industry developments
Requirements for the Assistant Controller:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years of experience in Bank accounting and/or financial management
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Previous Management experience
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulatory requirements
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
