A premiere biopharmaceutical company is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their beautiful office located in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will support the Sr. Director in overseeing all areas of general accounting. You will be assisting with the preparation of supporting schedules for SEC filings, acting as the point of contact for external quarterly reviews and audits, and much more. Compensation: Up to $135K

Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller:
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Prepare & review monthly journal entries & reconciliations ensuring appropriate supporting documentation
  • Assist with preparation of monthly R&D accruals
  • Assist with preparation of supporting schedules for SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, Proxy)
  • Act as point of contact for external quarterly reviews and audit process
  • Manage 3rd party payroll provider vendor relationship with ADP
  • Develop standards, policies and SOPs in support of key business processes
  • Assist with the completion of tax related filings and projects.
  • Drive internal process improvements and continually identify opportunities for automation to maximize system capabilities

  Requirements for the Assistant Controller:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • At least five years of combined public accounting and public biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry accounting experience
  • CPA
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and managing a quarter-end close
  • Experience working with mid-size to large ERP systems preferred
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
