Responsibilities for the  Assistant Director of Content Development:
  • Work closely with Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications to develop promotional content
  • Manage website and social media so they present a cohesive message that is consistent with the company brand
  • Ensure the website is up-to-date
  • Manage social media presence 
  • Work with the Web Developer to make sure the website is user friendly for patients, healthcare providers, and the general public
  • Work with the staff, Scientific Advisory Committee, and Board to develop new content for articles and videos
  • Manage the quarterly newsletter
  • Design all promotional, educational, and written correspondence
  • Ensure all information on print materials is kept up-to-date and facilitate updates as needed
  • Collaborate with external partners and consultants on special projects
  • Assist with general office duties
  • Provide on-site support at fundraising and educational events
  • Provide support to the Executive Director as needed

Requirements  Assistant Director of Content Development:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in communications, health communications, biology, healthcare administration, or healthcare/science related field
  • 1-3 years of prior experience working and/or volunteering in a healthcare non-profit or related field, preferably in a writing or content creation role
  • Healthcare education or knowledge of medical terminology and facts 
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment, tact, and discretion
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of partners
  • Proficiency in using Mac computers, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite CS4
  • Knowledge of using web and social media for marketing communications and fundraising purposes
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
