A leading law firm in Boston, MA is seeking an Associate Business Development Manager to join their team. As the Associate Business Development Manager, you will support the marketing and business development activities for all Litigation practices. You will also serve as a strategic partner to Section Management and the Litigation and Intellectual Property Business Development Managers to formulate and drive all “ branding” activities – internally and externally – related to raising the profile of the firm’ s litigation practices. Responsibilities for the Associate Business Development Manager:
  • Drive thought leadership
  • Work with practice groups and attorneys to identify, evaluate, and pursue speaking, publication, and social media opportunities
  • Develop a plan and supporting materials (i.e. calendar) for identifying where our litigators need to be in the market
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement client seminars and firm-sponsored events
  • Facilitate and manage submissions for rankings and recognitions for litigators
  • Develop and maintain collateral and sales materials (i.e. client case studies, brochures that highlight our litigation wins, an annual “ year in review” report, etc.)
  • Travel to other offices periodically
Requirements for the Associate Business Development Manager:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree or higher
  • At least 5-6 years’ experience in marketing, sales, or business development in a professional services environment
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to influence others and develop advisory relationships
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, prioritize multiple projects on a daily basis, and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Strong planning, project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to contribute to the growth and development of our Business Development team and understand our clients’ objectives and marketplace
  • Strong sense of urgency and a high-energy level
  • Facility analyzing, working with and presenting data
  • Ability to collaborate and gain the respect, trust, and confidence of the Firm’ s attorneys and professional staff, and develop advisory relationships
  • Possess a “ hands-on” tactical approach
  • Creative and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Facilitate teamwork and identify opportunities to develop new processes/infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp and implement new concepts quickly
  • Strong analytical abilities, resourcefulness, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and positive style that fosters collaborative working relationships
  • Outstanding sense of customer service
  • Deep personal commitment to integrity, excellent judgment, and the highest standards of ethics
  • Must display the highest level of diplomacy, tact and discretion, with comfort in handling and maintaining confidential information
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed and master new applications and software is critical
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
