Our client in Boston, MA is looking for a Bankruptcy Assistant who can provide administrative and secretarial support to Section Head and other legal staff including other members and associates. Responsibilities for the  Bankruptcy Assistant:
  • Draft, edit and proofread correspondence and documents
  • Maintain calendar and schedule appointments
  • Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, conferences and webinars
  • Track, document and enter billable time
  • Assist in billing and collections
  • Initiate conflict process, draft engagement letters, submit intake documentation for processing, communication and respond to client inquiries
  • Provide logistical support and prepare background documents and PowerPoint presentations for conferences, meetings and seminars
  • Process check requests, billing and expense reports
  • Perform general administrative tasks of filing, mailings, screening/answering phone calls and greeting clients
  • Work with assigned legal staff and section-mates as well as assist and serve as back-up to other Assistants
  • Maintain proficiency with office procedures and stay current with firm technology

  Requirements for the  Bankruptcy Assistant:
  • College degree or relevant work experience 
  • 5+ years secretarial or administrative experience, preferably in a legal or professional services organization
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Assistant role including excellent technical and communications skills
  • Excellent proofreading and organization skills and proven attention to detail
  • Knowledge of law firm billing systems
  • Ability to handle confidential business and client matters with discretion, provide training and guidance to less experienced Assistants, and interact with all levels of Firm personnel and maintain a professional demeanor in all situations
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
