A capital-backed industry leading biopharma venture in a high growth market is hiring a Corporate Development Analyst to join their Cambridge, MA office. This is a critical role driving both organic and inorganic growth through corporate strategy and transactional activity. The Analyst will support the Corporate Development team performing financial modeling, management reporting, and variance analysis, as well as working closely with the Finance and Investor Relations teams on Quarterly Reporting and guidance. Responsibilities for the Corporate Development Analyst:

Leadership
  • Coordinate with business leadership on operational aspects of acquisitions to identify, capture and measure synergies
  • Participate in key corporate strategic planning processes
  • Support strategy, organization and operations-related projects end-to-end
  • Support expansion in existing and new segments, including analytical initiatives 
  • Prepare presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors and provide analyses and recommendations to assist with strategic decision-making

Quality & Financial
  • Build projection models of potential acquisitions
  • Work closely with other Finance staff to develop budgets and forecasts and to maintain those forecasts in the budgeting system
  • Perform full market analysis of potential deals and acquisitions 

Staffing & Development
  • Work closely with key stakeholders in our Business Units on priority tactical initiatives to improve Business Unit performance
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our Business Units operate, the markets they play in, their strategic priorities and potential opportunities
  • Play an active role in integrating acquired companies & developing their structure and teams
Compliance
  • Ensure deep understanding of the regulatory environment for both existing businesses units as well as new markets 
  • Structure proposals and deals to include fully vetted considerations for regulatory, legal, and compliance issues

Requirements for the Corporate Development Analyst:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a top-tier university 
  • 2-5 years of transactional experience at an investment bank and/or private equity firm or a similar role in corporate development or M&A within a company
  • Demonstrated interest in finance, accounting, operations and/or entrepreneurship
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and financial modeling tools such as Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to perform financial modeling, operational analysis and all appropriate due diligence
  • Exceptional quantitative skills and financial acumen
  • Persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly the ability to develop coherent arguments and present them concisely to a range of stakeholders
  • Self-starter who can effectively collaborate and work across several operating divisions; ability to drive alignment and consensus across various senior executive stakeholders
  • An analytical mind, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and high attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, absolute reliability and honesty
  • Superior drive and work ethic, with a genuine interest in evaluating great investment opportunities
  • Self-motivated, high-energy, intellectually curious individual who can easily function in a high demand, performance-driven environment
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills to gain credibility while creatively structuring and articulating findings to wide range of business stakeholders
