Compensation: Up to $60K

Responsibilities for the Credentialing Coordinator:
  • Provide administrative support and act as a liaison to committees, physicians and other medical staff department members
  • Interface with physicians and hospital management staff in a positive and professional manner
  • Provide credentialing support to the Medical Staff Manager
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current medical staff standards as related to deemed agencies and other regulations as appropriate to medical staff and medical education
  • Oversee preparation and accuracy of credentialing reports
  • Maintain confidential credentials files on all members of the medical staff and allied health professionals
  • Transcribe minutes of assigned medical staff meetings assuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Secure appropriate peer competency references and prepares credentials files
  • Work closely with centralized verification organization to facilitate primary source and other verifications in accordance with established guidelines
  • Work with team members to track status of applicants and staff members
  • Communicate with applicants during credentialing process to ensure timely and expeditious completion of process
  • Resource to new medical staff members regarding the credentialing and privileging process throughout the members’ term on staff
  • Research incidents, malpractice claims, advisory letters/letters of concern etc. and request appropriate follow-up information from practitioner or other sources as indicated
  • Utilize credentialing software and ancillary software to ensure the credentialing process and privileging process are electronic to its fullest capability
Requirements for the Credentialing Coordinator:
  • Associate’ s degree preferred or equivalent education/experience
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or CPMSM preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience Medical Staff Services Department and/or acute care hospital credentialing experience required
  • Must have strong computer, communication, and writing skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with Cactus Credentialing software preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
