Responsibilities for the Customer Service Representative:
  • Interact with customers to respond to inquiries and complaints.
  • Issue licenses, identification cards, and motor vehicle registrations
  • Use computer terminals, vision instruments, automatic testing devices and other equipment
  • Administer vision tests by agency policy
  • Operate computer equipment to create, retrieve, review, change or update driver/vehicle/business information
  • Review reports for compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collect fees (cash and checks) and perform credit card transactions
  • Reconcile receipts with revenue control documents
  • Prepare forms and other documents related to licenses, registrations, identification cards and receipts for titles
  • Review customer documents in support of transactions for accuracy and veracity
  • Research additional information from third parties (other states, state agencies, etc.) to complete transactions
  • Greet customers, determine customer’ s purpose, assess readiness, and direct them to the appropriate line
  • Provide checklists and assistance in completing forms/applications
Requirements for the Customer Service Representative:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 year of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience in a position, the major duties of which included, cash handling and working directly with clients or customers
  • OR experience providing information to clients, customers or the general public on services, procedures and requirements, which included entering or retrieving data using computer systems
  • Must have reliable means of transportation as location for work varies across the region by day
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement
  • Ability to work efficiently in stressful situations; maintain composure when working with angry or confused customers
  • Ability to utilize computers, including website navigation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in written work or verbally and listen effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, follow guidelines and procedures
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
