Our client in Boston, MA is seeking a Donor Researcher to join their team. As the Donor Researcher, you will report to the Senior Director of Advancement. Your primary responsibilities include: supporting major gifts, annual giving, and the institutional giving through the identification, research, and analysis of prospects. You will also support database management  and prospect identification for specific fundraising initiatives. Apply today!

Responsibilities for the Donor Researcher:
  • Perform research and analysis of biographical, philanthropic, professional and financial information of donors and prospects
  • Conduct the identification of prospects for current and planned gifts using a variety of techniques and responding to the needs of any anticipated fundraising initiatives
  • Qualify and recommend corporate, foundation, and major gift prospects 
  • Prepare written profiles, ratings, and qualified lists to support the cultivation and solicitations of individuals, foundations, and corporations
  • Participate in discussions on cultivation and solicitation strategies; help coordinate regular prospect review sessions
  • Maintain research data; contribute to database management regarding the processes and procedures of prospect management
  • Manage, review, update, and enter into database relevant information on prospects
  • Respond to and prioritize specific requests from senior staff for prospect meeting and event briefings
  • Serve as the point of contact with prospect research vendors; serve as power user of prospect research tools and subscriptions
Requirements for the Donor Researcher:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • 2-3 years of prospect research or related fundraising experience
  • Experience with prospect research resources, including Raiser’ s Edge
  • Experience building and revising reports
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive data
  • Flexible, creative approach to researching potential funding sources
  • Ability to liaise with intra-agency and external stakeholders to actively identify program and prospect needs
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
