Our client in Boston, MA is seeking an Estate Administrator to join their team. As the Estate Administrator, you will be responsible for all phases of the administration of an assigned group of estates. You will maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff as well as observe confidentiality of firm and client matters. Apply today!

Responsibilities for the Estate Administrator:
  • Obtain allowance of will and/or appointments of fiduciaries
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with clients and related parties
  • Collect and value estate assets for probate and estate tax purposes
  • Determine debts, expenses and taxes and review cash needs
  • Work with responsible attorney and tax accountant to develop and implement post-mortem estate and income tax planning strategies
  • Coordinate with Trust Department for payment of debts of decedent and expenses of the estate
  • Prepare for timely filing the federal and state estate tax returns (706), inventory and probate accounts
  • Coordinate with an assigned tax accountant and provide the necessary documentation and information for the accountant’ s preparation of final individual and fiduciary income tax returns
  • Distribute estate assets and funding of trusts in accordance with the estate plan
  • Maintain files for all assigned matters
  • Responsible for administration of firm’ s insurance trusts 
Requirements for the Estate Administrator:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree with some office experience in a supporting role
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Word and Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
  • Ability to read and write English in order to proof and perform minor editing (e.g., punctuation, grammar, spelling) of routine correspondence
  • Perform non-complex arithmetic calculations when verifying calculations on forms and documents; maintain records and filing systems
  • Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
  • Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills in order to complete assignments/tasks from inception to completion
  • Receptive to learning and applying new procedures and applications
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
