Responsibilities for the Finance and Accounting Associate:
  • Process numerous semi-monthly and biweekly payrolls for approximately 500 employees, partners, co-ops and interns
  • Maintain schedules and reconciliations for aforementioned payrolls, payroll reporting, 401(k) benefit plan, and payroll taxes
  • Assist with verification and processing for the firm’ s matching gift program
  • Assist with payroll and benefits cost forecasting  
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and quarterly transfer pricing including revenue and cost sharing 
  • Assist with preparation and filings of government surveys and censuses
  • Maintain schedules of prepaid assets and record monthly amortization in the general ledger
  • Prepare various revenue reconciliations and record monthly pooled product fees
  • Monitor and reconcile miscellaneous receivables and payables balance sheet accounts
  • Calculate quarterly mark to market of the firm’ s investments
  • Assist in other projects as assigned by the Financial Controller, Head of Finance and other members of the team
Requirements for the Finance and Accounting Associate:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar with 2-4 years of work experience in a similar function
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting systems
  • Experience in payroll processing and/or payroll systems a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be adept at learning new computer technology
  • Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Table and V-Lookup experience a plus)
  • Team player, positive and service-oriented attitude, professional and mature
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision
  • True interest in working in a finance and accounting department
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines
  • Task oriented but also thinks about the bigger picture
  • Willing to take the initiative to improve processes and lend support wherever needed
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
