A leading law firm in Boston, MA is seeking an IP Litigation Assistant to join their team. As the IP Litigation Assistant, you will provide a broad range of administrative and secretarial support to the Firm’ s Intellectual Property Litigation attorneys and paralegals. Apply today!

Responsibilities for the IP Litigation Assistant:
  • Draft, edit and proofread correspondence and legal documents
  • File legal documents with courts and other agencies
  • Maintain calendar and schedule appointments
  • Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements and conferences
  • Initiate conflict process, draft engagement letters and submit intake documentation for processing
  • Track, document and enter billable time
  • Initiate communication and respond to client inquiries
  • Process check requests, billing and expense reports
  • Download patents and file histories
  • Perform general administrative tasks of filing, mailings, answering phone calls and greeting clients
  • Maintain proficiency with office procedures and stay current with firm’ s technology
Requirements for the IP Litigation Assistant:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • 1-2 years law firm experience as a litigation secretary
  • Familiarity with the USPTO’ s databases and various patent vendors preferred
  • E-Filing experience preferred
  • Federal and state trial experience
  • Appellate experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of law firm billing systems
  • Basic knowledge of legal terminology
  • Proactive, professional and positive work style, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues of all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands
  • Self-motivated, a fast learner, dedicated to producing quality work and bringing assigned tasks and projects to completion
  • Excellent proofreading and organization skills
  • Ability to handle confidential business and client matters with discretion
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and document management systems
  • Flexibility to work overtime, i.e., late nights and weekends
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
