A law practice in Boston, MA is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Specialist to join their team. In this job role, you will work closely with the Transactional Client Development Manager/team on a wide variety of initiatives supporting revenue-generating, general marketing and visibility opportunities for practice and industry groups. Responsibilities for the Marketing & Business Development Specialist:
  • Prepare sophisticated, thoughtful and persuasive pitch materials, including RFP responses and tailored marketing collateral
  • Support the planning and execution of firm events including seminars, webinars, client entertainment and receptions and coordinate sponsorships to fully leverage benefits
  • Lead audience development for firm events, develop targeted invitation lists, track RSVPs, attendee engagement and follow-up efforts
  • Review and conduct research on companies, industries, marketplaces and competitors related to pitches and other strategic initiatives
  • Gather intelligence on legal industry trends to provide attorneys with an understanding of the competitive landscape and to position the firm for increased effectiveness in winning new business
  • Contribute to market recognition efforts, including overseeing the development of legal directory submissions (Chambers USA, Legal 500, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the PR, Communications and Digital Marketing teams to identify and promote internal and external deals, matters, client news and other lawyer and practice highlights
  • Maintain the firm’ s experience and content management database (Foundation) and perform queries and generate reports as needed
  • Work with colleagues to support contact management efforts via InterAction (including contact updates, development of targeted marketing lists, tagging client activities, etc.)
  • Propose and support marketing communications-related activities, such as website updates, improvements to attorney biographies and online profiles including LinkedIn
  • Participate in the Client Development department’ s cross-functional resources program working with Managers across legal department teams in their various business development and marketing efforts including, events and sponsorships

Requirements for the Marketing & Business Development Specialist:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven experience in a dynamic environment with high expectations for superior client service
  • Research skills and reasoning ability to turn data into succinct and useful deliverable for lawyers
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
