A major hospital in Boston is seeking a Medical Billing Analyst to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. The Medical Billing Analyst is responsible for processing all medical bills, working with customers, and managing the claims process. Having experience with EPIC is a plus. Pay range: $20-$24/hour

Responsibilities for the Medical Billing Analyst:
  • Process all medical bills, both electronic and paper as needed
  • Using EPIC is a plus
  • Coordinating activities with specific physician offices, service sites and ancillary departments
  • Preparing and submitting accurate insurance claims to payer within proper time frames
  • Working payer scrubber and denial reports in an effective and timely manner
  • Ensuring prompt resolution of outstanding insurance claims. Identifying trends, denials, issues impacting account resolution and referring as appropriate
  • Maintaining a good understanding of third party payer contracts
  • Providing positive and effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations
  • Sending and acknowledging claims to the different payers
  • Editing claims for payers
  • Submitting and tracking of paper claims

Requirements for the Medical Billing Analyst:
  • High School diploma and a minimum of 1 year directly related experience
  • Good problem-solving skills to handle complex situations
  • A good understanding of medical terminology and codes, preferred
  • Excellent understanding of third party payer
  • The ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
