Our client in Shrewsbury, MA is seeking a Mortgage Processor to join their team. In this contract-to-hire role, you will be responsible for the processing of mortgage loan applications to closing in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities for the Mortgage Processor:
  • Process mortgage loan applications fully utilizing the automated underwriting tools and processing software programs available
  • Work closely with the Loan Officer throughout process to obtain any necessary information or documents in a timely manner
  • Process mortgage loan applications to closing including ordering credit reports, processing various asset, liability and employment verifications, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations throughout the application process
  • Maintain accurate status dates for applications and documents on processing software to generate periodic reports of processing status
  • Utilize reporting function of processing software to process applications in the most timely and efficient manner
  • Monitor and ensure completeness and accuracy of file documents and verifications
  • Establish and organize loan files in a manner consistent with loan policies, readying files for review by approval authority
  • Process and review all conditions received for applicant and verify data is correct and meets FNMA guidelines
  • Update the Encompass mortgage system with applicant(s) information
  • Ensure that mortgage files are thoroughly prepared prior to being given to the closing department
  • Submit files to PMI companies
  • Speak with members in a professional manner to obtain required documentation
  • Maintain community involvement and participate in special projects, as needed
  • Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures and regulations
  • Stay current on job related equipment, procedures and information via attendance at meetings and seminars, webinars and reading various memos, handouts and publications
  • Perform miscellaneous duties
Requirements for the Mortgage Processor:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of job-related experience in a mortgage lending environment
  • Knowledge of FNMA guidelines
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
