A top healthcare organization in Somerville, MA is seeking a Charge Audit Assistant to assist the Charge Audit team part time. In this contract role, you will be responsible for coordinating charge audits which are conducted for facilities within the organizations network in accordance with the Charge Audit Policy and established departmental policies/procedures. The ideal candidate is someone who is computer literate, who has intermediate Excel skills, as well as strong attention to detail. Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required. Apply today!

Compensation: $19/hr

Responsibilities for the Charge Audit Assistant:
  • Print itemized bills and profiles for all cases submitted on letter of intent notifications by Audit Representatives
  • Check status of claim balance for the audits in claim system (EPIC)
  • Send out itemized bills and profiles to the Audit Representatives 30 days prior to the scheduled audits
  • Schedule audits and enter information into the audit management tool (Cobius) and add information into claims systems
  • Schedule medical records retrieval for audits and provide the Audit Representative the date of the scheduled audit
  • Document findings and final outcomes of all accounts reviewed by the Audit Representative in EPIC as needed
  • Assist as needed with other Charge Audit activities, including coverage for vacations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements for the Charge Audit Assistant:
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of health care personnel and hospital/finance management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a role that requires flexibility in an environment that is deadline driven
  • Experience with computer software programs such as Word and Excel are required
  • Ability to function as a department resource with a focus on contributing to the achievement of departmental and corporate goals
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
