Responsibilities for the  Part-Time Paralegal:
  • Prepare guardianship petitions and related legal pleadings for filing in various probate courts
  • Track all court approved medication orders and arrange for periodic court reviews of these orders
  • Work with physicians and other professional health care providers who provide services to persons with intellectual disabilities and obtain affidavits and other documents necessary for court reviews
  • Maintain and update case files, a schedule of return dates, and hearing and trial dates
  • File cases in various probate courts
  • Process court documents to ensure that all parties receive copies
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with court personnel, attorneys, families, service coordinators

Requirements for the  Part-Time Paralegal:
  • Prior experience as a paralegal
  • Knowledge of the probate court and familiarity with guardianship proceedings preferred
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship                     

Contract Employee Benefits:
