Compensation: Up to $90K

Responsibilities for the Patent Paralegal:
  • Prepare, review, and file supporting documents for attorneys
  • Maintain citations database using International Patient Decision Aids Standards (IPDAS) citation manager; docket and send out reminders to client for upcoming due dates
  • Prepare client status reports using Consumer Price Index (CPI) database
  • Assist in due diligence searches and additional patent prosecution related projects
  • Provide assistance to docket administrator, IP LEAs, and attorneys

Requirements for the Patent Paralegal:
  • Bachelor’ s degree and 3+ years patent paralegal experience, preferably in a mid to large sized law firm
  • Knowledge of procedural requirements for filing US and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO)
  • Experience in electronic filing at the USPTO and International Bureau (PCT)
  • Knowledge of direct foreign filing and US and foreign national phase entry procedural requirements
  • Knowledge of IPDAS, IPDAS Citation Manager, and CPI databases; IP Docket Experience a plus
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
