An employee oriented Boston firm is seeking a Patent and Trademark Docketing Supervisor to join their Patent Prosecution department. As the Patent and Trademark Docketing Supervisor, you will monitor the distribution of daily due date and final deadline patent reports, clear daily patent final deadlines, monitor patent mail, and provide client specific reports on a monthly and quarterly basis. Responsibilities for the Patent and Trademark Docketing Supervisor:
  • Implement docketing procedures for the department and supervise the Docketing Specialist team
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of incoming U.S., PCT, and Foreign Patent correspondence received
  • Oversee and organize bi-annual IP File Audits
  • Enter newly filed Patent Applications into CPI
  • Conduct weekly/monthly PAIR comparison against the CPI database
  • Cross-check CPI Annuity reports received from CPI Online against CPI system to ensure validity of the docket
Requirements for the Patent and Trademark Docketing Supervisor:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of experience
  • Understanding of the policies and procedures associated with an Intellectual Property (IP) Group/Department
  • Understanding of the language, filings and deadlines related to U.S. and Foreign Patent, Design, and Trademark prosecution
  • Knowledge of Computer Packages, Inc. (CPI)
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
