Responsibilities for the Patient Service Representative:
  • Answer and screen telephone calls 
  • Greet and direct patients, families, visitors and staff
  • Update patient demographic and insurance information as necessary and obtain specialist referrals for all patient appointments
  • Schedule patient appointments; maintain physicians' clinical and administrative schedules and calendars
  • Prepare and maintain patient records for clinical activities; prepare and distribute routine reports 
  • Handle confidential information appropriately
  • Collect co-payments from patients at point-of-service
  • Coordinate billing tickets for office visits and services following established procedures
  • Type correspondence, manuscripts and/or others documents
  • Transcribe letters and patient notes as needed for physicians and facilitates in clinical computer systems
Requirements for the Patient Service Representative:
  • High School diploma or GED required.; Associate's Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years related work experience required
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access)
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
