A global law firm based in Boston, MA is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join their team. Under the direction of the real estate attorneys in our Boston office, this position will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including documentation, due diligence, closing and post-closing activities for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. Compensation: $75K

Responsibilities for the Real Estate Paralegal:
  • Order and review title commitments, exception documents and surveys, interfacing directly with the title company and surveyor to resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Prepare and administer contract critical dates and closing checklists
  • Coordinate and assist with all aspects of closings, including preparation of conveyance documents, closing statements, and other closing documents
  • Attend all post-closing requirements, including preparation of closing indices, the preparation and organization of closing binders, and monitoring all post-closing deliveries or requirements
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memorandum
  • Prepare of initial draft documents, amendments to agreements or leases and miscellaneous documents, including estoppel certificates, SNDAs and Memos of Lease, for attorney review
  • Knowledge of formation of entities and review of organizational and authority documents
  • Order UCC lien and other searches
Requirements for the Real Estate Paralegal:
  • Bachelor’ s degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • Five years of previous experience in commercial real estate transactions, including experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing
  • Law firm and in-house experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook or similar e-mail/calendar technology
  • Possess excellent legal research skills, including knowledge of electronic databases
  • Knowledge of relevant database
  • Strong writing, organizational and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and legal terminology
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
