Responsibilities for the Receptionist:

  • Take and relay telephone messages
  • Provide telephone directory assistance
  • Greet, escort and direct visitors
  • Provide general information to callers or visitors
  • Communicate clearly and accurately
  • Use a telephone system to receive and transfer calls
  • Show patience and courtesy when dealing with people
  • Perform light administrative duties: typing, filing, faxing, handling incoming and outgoing mail, ordering and maintaining supplies, providing backup coverage to other administrative desks


Immunization requirements for the Receptionist:
  • Provide Proof of Immunity (provider documentation or lab report) for the following:
    • Measles, Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine #1 and #2 dates or titers indicating immunity
    • Hepatitis B - vaccine #1, #2, and #3 dates and Hepatitis B Surface Antibody titer indicating immunity, signed declination, or lab results indicating disease history
    • Varicella-zoster (Chicken Pox) - vaccine #1 and #2 dates; or provider documentation of disease, or titer indicating immunity
    • Adacel (Tdap; tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) given since 2005
    • Recent Tuberculosis (TB) skin test results, which is to be given once per year. Documentation of TST results must include dates given and read, and the millimeter (mm) of induration

Requirements for the Receptionist:
  • Has basic to intermediate computer skills including: word processing and spreadsheet software               
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
