An investment firm located in Boston, Massachusetts is currently searching for a risk and controls analyst. The role of this analyst is to improve and enhance the firm’ s controls documentation. The consultant will report to the internal audits manager and will attempt to build a consolidated control register, leveraging existing documentation.

Responsibilities for Risk and Controls Analyst:
  • Identify where risk-based off-report compensating controls should be considered and determine if existing controls can be leveraged/identified
  • Consolidate existing SOC1 control activities and other known control datasets in order to build a master control register
  • Articulate control activities
  • Identify the applicable control assertions where possible
  • Develop and execute a project plan to work with line management to source the missing/additional information required for the control master control register
  • Map each control to existing risk inventory
  • Develop and execute a project plan to work with line management to identify existing key controls for non-SOC1 operational and compliance/regulatory key risk areas
  • Develop a guide for identifying control activities in within a process and clear articulation of control activities
Requirements for Risk and Controls Analyst:
  • 5+ years of risk and control consulting
  • Undergraduate degree is required and a CPA is preferred
  • Experience identifying, designing, and documenting and conducting risk assessments
  • Proven project management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
