Our client in Andover, MA is seeking a Senior Accountant to join as an integral member of their Controlling and Reporting team. In this contract role, you will assist in (and is partially responsible for) the preparation, maintenance, closure, analysis, understanding and reporting of monthly financial data.  As the Senior Accountant, you will work across the business with finance and non-finance colleagues to ensure proper adherence to accounting and internal control policies. Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:
  • Assist in the management of the general accounting operations in accordance with Company and Corporate policies and procedures while complying with IFRS
  • Ensure accurate and timely month end process
  • Complete all routine finance processing
  • Own controls, processes and documentation
  • Prepare/review of month-end reconciliations
  • Review the accounting routines to identify opportunities for improvements in process efficiencies and operating costs, ensuring documentation of accounting procedures are maintained and updated 
  • Advise on accounting matters to local finance contacts
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of the operating forecasts and budgets, specifically pertaining to the balance sheet and cash flow
  • Ad-hoc projects/requests of varying duration
Requirements for the Senior Accountant:
  • Bachelors in Accounting and Finance
  • Licenses/Certifications
  • CPA licence (or international equivalent) highly recommended (Big 4 trained preferable)
  • Minimum 3-5 post qualifying experience
  • Strong financial accounting skills in IFRS
  • Experience in SAP, Hyperion, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • Experience in a multinational environment and/or US publicly traded company
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a huge benefit
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong financial/accounting acumen
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to focus on the details while grasping the wider concepts
  • Ability to work independently with limited or without direction
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
