Under the general direction of the Vice President/Retail Lending Operations Manager, you will assist in providing quality loans by underwriting and evaluating residential mortgage applications originated by correspondent lenders and in-house originators.  Don’ t miss this wonderful opportunity to learn and grow with a terrific company!

Compensation: Up to $74K

Responsibilities for the  Senior Loan Underwriter
  • Ensure confidentiality of customer transactions
  • Assist customers with general information and services
  • Coordinate and process related paperwork to maintain efficient workflow
  • Review loan files and communicate with Senior Loan Processor
  • Analyze applicant’ s financial status, credit and property evaluations
  • Assist customers with questions regarding the loan application, terms of the loan and product information
  • Evaluate risk for each loan
  • Respond to Lending Policy inquiries within scope of authority
  • Prepare application disposition correspondence
  • Responsible for audits of loan files prior to and after funding is obtained
  • Confer with Assistant Vice President/Lending Operations Manager to aid in resolving mortgage application issues
  • Responsible for verifying HMDA information for accuracy at loan level
  • Keep abreast of residential and consumer loan products
  • Keep abreast of all loan underwriting, processing and closing tasks

Requirements for the  Senior Loan Underwriter:
  • Knowledge of basic lending and underwriting policies and procedures
  • 3-5+ years Mortgage Banking underwriting experience required
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Must become a registered MLO in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
