Responsibilities for the Senior Research Grant Administrator:
  • Proposal Development and Preparation such as: reviewing funding, understanding required application components/submission process; coordinate internal approval process; prepare budget; compliance with guidelines; other responsibilities as needed to see the proposal process through to completion  
  • Post-award management, including: organizing planning meetings, reviewing notice of award and modifications; collaborating with the budget team; understanding and advising on award terms and conditions; assist with procurement needs and financial transactions; troubleshoot any post-award issues that might arise; other duties as needed
  • Plan events/workshops to improve community members' understanding of research administration
Requirements for the Senior Research Grant Administrator:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience working with proposals, budgets, grants and other sponsored awards
  • Hands-on knowledge of funding agencies and programs, understanding of the regulations that govern Federal research funding (e.g., Uniform Guidance. OMB A-110, A-21, A-133, FAR) and related areas of regulatory compliance
  • Proficient in electronic submission systems (i.e.,, NIH eRA Commons, xTRAIN, NSF Fastlane, ProposalCentral, etc.)
  • Financial expertise with experience in budget development and post-award financial management
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
