A leading university in Boston, MA is seeking a Technical Training Specialist to join their team. In this contract role, you will work in a small team that plans, designs, develops, delivers, and reports dynamic knowledge and training content for a range of IT services used by members of the university’ s community. As the Technical Training Specialist, your responsibilities will include delivering effective instructor-led technical training to the university’ s community; assisting in the design and development of learning programs; and consulting with subject matter experts to develop impactful training and documentation content. Responsibilities for the Technical Training Specialist:
  • Work closely with supervisor to plan, design, develop, and deliver knowledge and training content related to IT services to the community
  • Perform learning management system and knowledge base administration activities such as content administration, user administration, application workflow configuration and general reporting
  • Create and edit videos to demonstrate product details and functionality
  • Curate content from other resources such as lynda.com, EdX, YouTube to provide or enhance training content for our community
  • Create documentation for a variety of Tufts tools and resources including classroom a/v equipment
Requirements for the Technical Training Specialist:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, computer science or related field
  • 3-5 years’ work experience or 1-3 years in a technical environment
  • Strong technical proficiency with Mac, Windows, Microsoft Office applications, Box, WebEx and/or other broadly-used productivity and collaboration software
  • Ability to take complex tasks and/or subject matter and develop meaningful, simplified content
  • Ability to quickly understand and become an efficient user of new products and services
  • Ability to deliver engaging instructor-led training sessions
  • Demonstrated relationship skills and ability to interact with multiple subject matter experts
  • A self-starter who has strong work ethic and sense of responsibility in managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Detail oriented and strong technical writing skills
  • End user and administrative knowledge of Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Experience creating and editing videos preferred
  • Experience using digital content creation solutions such as: Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, Photoshop, or other similar software preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
