A Boston based law firm in Boston, MA is seeking a Trust Operations Accountant to join their Trust Department. As the Trust Operations Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks including account reconciliations, account openings and closings, and the payment of trustee fees. Responsibilities for the Trust Operations Accountant:
  • Prepare a daily reconciliation of cash, as well as bi-monthly bank reconciliations
  • Review all banking activity
  • Monitor and compile the outstanding check list, follows up on the status of stale checks
  • Process all Account Openings and Account Closings
  • Calculate income accruals, money market interest and trustee fees
  • Provide backup services for the Disbursement Accountant, including processing the payment of all tax estimates
Requirements for the Trust Operations Accountant:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Trust Operations or Accounting position preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and proofing for content and context
  • A high degree of organization, flexibility and reliability to set priories, manage multiple responsibilities and work well under pressure
  • Ability to assume responsibility for assigned tasks, and if necessary, able to delegate workload in order to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including good verbal skills, tact and diplomacy as well as the ability to interact positively with all types of people in all levels of business
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members as well as attorneys and staff throughout the firm
  • Adaptable to last minute changes and disruptions, and able to accommodate occasional overtime work
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
