Our client in Somerville, MA is looking for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to join their team. Responsibilities for the Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist:
  • Manage workers compensation claims determining compensability and benefits due on long term indemnity claims, monitors reserves accuracy and files necessary documentation with state agency
  • Communicate claim action with injured employee and entity contact
  • Ensure claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
  • Process claims consistent with the WC Division “ best practices” and in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirement.
  • Process complex lifetime medical and/or defined period medical claims which include state and physician filings and decision on appropriate treatments recommended by utilization review
  • Manage all aspects of each claim, including attending mediations and maintaining a high level of productivity, confidentiality and customer service

  Requirements for the Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist:
  • Associate’ s degree or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of related experience
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
